Finish was in the University of Colorado football stadium, pretty
cool
Ahh...finished at last...results to follow. I'm pretty sure
that I "beat my age". (under 51 minutes)
05/25/07 Found an old picture of Dennis and Laura Goetz.
Dennis was a friend of ours who died of malaria after a mission trip to Zambia
years ago.
THIS is an article in the paper about it. We think of him often, and miss
him. It will be good to see him again in heaven.
05/24/07 We got snow last night...Yikes! Bring on that
global warming. Talked to Anika last night. We are planning
on a golf outing on Saturday before the wedding in Sept. I
found a picture of a wedding we "happened" on last year while driving
through the Garden of the Gods.
Now that my baby is getting married...time to check out some old pics.
Anika, Billy and Matt. Me and Anika in Indian Princesses.
05/22/07 Me and a tech at work, Audrey
Had a customer late last night. He is a soldier back from Iraq.
He was in for pain medication for his arm that has been operated on 10
times since getting messed up bad by an IED in Iraq. One of his
fingers was blown off and his arm is 45% muscle impaired. His
hearing was not too good either. Anyway, we chatted for a while,
and what a great attitude he had. Making jokes about his arm and
the IED's over there. He did say that the IEDs were very
sophisticated and were made by Syrian and Iran. Even though his
morale was very high, we was sad by the political stuff going on.
He totally believes in the mission and is frustrated that the troops
have so many restrictions on what they do, and then are called "losers"
by the politicians that make the restrictions. I got a picture of
me and Daniel..my new hero.
05/20/07 More pics of our trip to Santa Fe. Took the
"high road" back through Chimayo,NM. This is the famous El Santuario de
Chimayo church... Called the "Lourdes of America"...website

and Barb(r)
Juan, Sandy and me ( we have mouths full of food)
And, of course the night folks (yes, we are all crazy on nights)
05/16/07 While in Santa Fe, we saw some folks taking their
animals out for a walk. Yes, that is a rat on top of kitty.
05/15/07 We visited Taos Pueblo while in New Mexico ...facinating.
People are still living there.. You can see where the adobe style
of building comes from.
From the WEBSITE..
How old is Taos Pueblo?
Our people have a detailed oral history which is not divulged due to religious
privacy. Archaeologists say that ancestors of the Taos Indians lived in this
valley long before Columbus discovered America and hundreds of years before
Europe emerged from the Dark Ages. Ancient ruins in the Taos Valley indicate our
people lived here nearly 1000 years ago. The main part of the present buildings
were most likely constructed between 1000 and 1450 A.D. The appeared much as
they do today when the first Spanish explorers arrived in Northern New Mexico in
1540 and believed that the Pueblo was one of the fabled golden cities of Cibola.
The two structures called Hlauuma (north house) and Hlaukwima
(south house) are said to be of similar age. They are considered to be the
oldest continuously inhabited communities in the USA.
Those are drying racks in front of the buldings...the round things
are community ovens.
These buildings must be constantly maintained because they are made
of true Adobe. Nothing but dirt, water, wood and straw. The
people that live here can have propane stoves and battery operated
stuff. No running water or electricity.
05/14/07 Computer has been down for a few days.... pics
of our trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico last weekend. First picture is us in our "haunted"room.
More on that later. Then us with Steve and Yvonne, and a waiter that looks
like their son.
We stayed in the La Posada de Santa Fe... Beautiful place..our
room was on the second floor of this building. We stayed in the
Julia Staab room...
We hung around a tour group later that night that was doing a haunted
house tour of Santa Fe. They were at our hotel because Julia Staab
was still haunting the main part of the house. Julia regularly
showed up on the main floor (in the bathrooms) and in her old room #100
(THE ONE WE WERE STAYING IN!) Oh oh... We let the tour group come
up and see our room.
This is a picture, that the tour guide had, of Julia in the mirror in
the corner of our room
Julia in a painting in the room and the corner where the dresser used
to be.
We took a picture of us in a mirror downstairs to see if we could see
Julia in it... AHHH! Now
THAT is scary!!!
05/08/07 Snowed yesterday..UGH... Pics of Garden of the
Gods today and Pikes.. Some guy tried to hike up Pikes Peak on Sunday and got
stranded. Article
HERE. Spent 2 days up there at Barr Camp and is being rescued today...

05/05/07 Both Connie and I ran the "Take 5 in the Park"
race in the Garden of the Gods. I ran the 5 miler.

Looks like Connie's chip was not activated, but she ran the 5K in
about 40 minutes, she said.
05/03/07 Went fishing last Tuesday at 11Mile Canyon on the
South Platte River. Got a bunch of bites, but did not catch anything.
Does not matter, however, in such a beautiful place. This picture will be
that last one from my old junky camera, as I dropped it in the water after
taking this picture.
My new (cheapo) camera....bought on Ebay...soon to be delivered..
04/30/07 It was so sad to hear about Josh Hancock, a relief
pitcher for the St Louis Cardinals. Another reminder that even though
baseball is fun to follow (especially the Cardinals), that the matter of
eternity is WAY more important. 150,000 people die every day, and each one of us
will be a part of that statistic sooner or later. Please click on
THIS website if you are not sure if
you will go to heaven or hell when you die.
On a lighter note....this is a burial urn for those who are BIG
Cardinal fans.
04/29/07 Hiked Gold Camp Trail...background is downtown
Colorado Springs.
Wifey and pooch....and us at the top of the trail.
04/26/07 Global Warming? Hmmmm... Check this documentary out.
A bunch of folks from the World Headquarters of
Compassion are running the BolderBoulder
next month. This is the T-shirt we are all wearing.
The scripture is from Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the
Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed".
04/25/07 Just got a certificate from the 1/2 marathon folks...
